The Hope Arts Initiative exists to 1) disciple the artists in our body and honor the gifts God has given them and 2) promote and restore creativity in the church. Our vision is ultimately that Hope Community Church would be moving as a people towards a God-centered vision of arts & culture.
The Hope Arts Initiative includes:
Community: Fellowship, discussion, inspiration, and encouragement during small group gatherings and meals.
Discipleship: Teachings, critique, accountability, mentoring, and development in both spiritual and artistic maturity during special events and education hour.
Resources: Provide online resources for a theology of the arts and post local opportunities and events.
Exhibits: Provide gallery space and opportunities for artists to show their work on a regular basis.
Service: Use the arts to serve the community by donating services, skills, and time.
Integration: Work with Hope pastors and staff to incorporate the arts in sermon series and other ministry events such as Soulwell, Spring Retreat, Good Friday, etc.
Relationships: Build alliances and establish positive relations with arts organizations, parachurch organizations, and other church art ministries to do collaborative projects.
Support: Give small artist grants to local Christian artists.
Creativity: Get together and make some art!
